In the spring of 2006, THE COLORADO CONFESSION was drafted by a grassroots ecumenical group in the Denver, Colorado, area. This document gives voice to our concerns, as Christians, about the heresy within the Religious Right and the direction of national and international American policies. It provides a theological foundation for action in response to our concerns.

We hope that THE COLORADO CONFESSION will:

  • stimulate reflection and discussion within the Christian church about the nature of faith and ethics in our time
  • give church members an opportunity to express their support of these thological principles by signing the Confession
  • form the basis of a community of committed Christians who will provide leadership in their congregations and denominations
  • call church members to more significant engagement with issues in their community and the world.
